Your 2020 Resolutions: Excel, Lead, and Innovate
By: American Nurses Association
Happy new year! And Happy Year of the Nurse!
ANA’s year-long celebration is officially underway. Here’s how you can get involved right from the start: Make a resolution to commit to excellence, leadership, and innovation – the three anchors of The Year of the Nurse.
Why should you commit? Because nurses who excel drive themselves forward – through lifelong learning, continuing education, and evidence-based practice. Nurses who lead drive healthcare forward. They serve on boards and committees, shape policy, and advocate to ensure nurses receive the respect they deserve. Nurses who innovate drive patient care forward. They never stop searching for a better way to take care of patients and families.
As Florence Nightingale said, “Unless we are making progress in our nursing every year, every month, every week, take my word for it – we are going back.”
How will you excel, lead, and innovate in 2020? Read part 2 of this blogpost for ways to turn ideas into action. For more inspiration, visit ANA’s Year of the Nurse website.
